Notification Widget
The Notification Widget is a dedicated trigger for audio alerts.
Description
Section titled “Description”Unlike the “Announce” widget which displays text, this widget is primarily an icon that can play specific sounds or TTS messages on demand or via automation. It’s often used as an “Audio indicator”.
Key Features
Section titled “Key Features”- Audio Playback: Plays a sound file (URL) or speaks text (TTS).
- Test Button: Built-in button to test the audio in the editor.
- Visual: Simple icon representation.
Configuration
Section titled “Configuration”- Mode: “Sound File” or “Text to Speech”.
- Source: URL of the sound or the text to speak.
- Scheduler: Configure when it’s allowed to play (e.g., not at night).
Visuals
Section titled “Visuals”- Icon: Choose a representative icon (e.g., Bell, Megaphone).
Use Cases
Section titled “Use Cases”- Doorbell Chime: Configure it to play a “Ding Dong” sound when triggered.
- Warning Siren: Visual and audio alert for alarms.
- Public Address: Click to broadcast a pre-set message.
