Historical Ticker Widget
The Historical Ticker Widget displays a scrolling feed of past events.
Description
Section titled “Description”Designed to show a log of recent changes, such as “Front Door opened 5 mins ago”, “Motion detected in Garden 2 mins ago”. It creates a news-ticker style scrolling bar.
Key Features
Section titled “Key Features”- Multi-Entity Feed: Monitor multiple sensors at once.
- Scrolling Animation: Smooth horizontal scroll (Ticker) or vertical stacking.
- History Retention: Keeps a local log of recent state changes while the dashboard is open.
- Timestamps: Automatically adds relative formatting (e.g., “(12:45 PM)”).
Configuration
Section titled “Configuration”- Entities: List of entities to monitor for changes.
- Max Items: limit the history length.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”- Speed: Control the scroll speed.
- Mode: “Ticker” (scrolling line) or “List” (static list).
- Transforms: Clean up raw entity values (e.g., capitalize “on” to “On”).
Use Cases
Section titled “Use Cases”- Security Log: Monitor all door/window sensors.
- Activity Feed: “Kitchen motion”, “Living room lights on”.
- News Feed: Connect to an RSS sensor for actual news headlines.
