Advanced Entity Display Widget
The Advanced Entity Display Widget shows the state or attribute of any entity with granular control.
Description
Section titled “Description”A highly flexible text display widget. Unlike the standard entity display, this widget allows you to drill down into complex attributes (using JSON paths) and handle various data types (text, numbers, booleans) with ease.
Key Features
Section titled “Key Features”- Deep Attribute Access: Display deeply nested values from an entity’s attributes (e.g.,
attributes.weather.forecast[0].temperature). - Data Formatting: Automatically handles JSON objects by stringifying them for inspection.
- Unit Display: Shows valid units of measurement automatically if available.
Configuration
Section titled “Configuration”- Entity: The Home Assistant entity to monitor.
- Attribute Path: (Optional) Dot-notation path to a specific value (e.g.,
state,attributes.brightness,attributes.current_power_w).
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”- Typography: Custom font family, size, weight, and alignment (Left, Center, Right).
- Background: Transparent or custom background color to blend with your dashboard.
Use Cases
Section titled “Use Cases”- Debug Info: Show raw JSON data from a complex sensor.
- Specific Metric: Extract just the “Daily Total” from a complex energy meter sensor.
- Status Text: Display a text-based state like “Cleaning” for a vacuum robot.
