The Image Widget displays static or dynamic images.

Description

A flexible image container that can show a static photo (like a floorplan), a live camera snapshot, or album art from a media player.

Key Features

• Dynamic Source:
  • Static URL: Enter a direct link to an image.
  • Entity Attribute: Pull an image URL from a sensor (e.g., sensor.latest_person_detected or media_player.spotify).
• Entity State: Use the entity’s entity_picture attribute automatically.
• Transitions: Smooth cross-fades or slides when the image changes.

Source

• Entity: (Optional) The entity providing the image.
• Attribute: The specific attribute containing the URL (defaults to entity_picture or state).

Visuals

• Fit Mode: Cover, Contain, or Fill.
• Effects: Opacity, Gradients, and Border Radius.

Use Cases

• Album Art: Large display of currently playing music.
• Floorplan: Static background for your dashboard.
• Security: Show the “Latest Snapshot” from a security camera event.
