Camera Stream Widget
The Camera Stream Widget provides a live view of your home security cameras.
Description
Section titled “Description”This widget displays a real-time video feed from any camera entity in Home Assistant. It supports MJPEG streams, static snapshots, and experimental WebRTC playback. It can also act as a button to navigate to a full-screen camera view or trigger other actions.
Key Features
Section titled “Key Features”- Live Stream: Supports MJPEG and static image refresh.
- WebRTC Support: Detects and attempts to play WebRTC streams (if configured in Home Assistant).
- Interactive: Click to navigate to a dedicated camera dashboard or toggle lights.
- Visuals: Border radius, opacity, and rotation controls.
Configuration
Section titled “Configuration”- Entity: The
cameraentity to display.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”- Fit Mode: Scaled to fit or Cover (fill the box).
- Scale: Zoom in on the feed.
- Opacity: Semi-transparent feeds for overlay effects.
Use Cases
Section titled “Use Cases”- Security Monitor: Grid of 4 cameras on a tablet.
- Doorbell: Pop up a larger view when the doorbell rings (using conditional visibility).
- Background: Use a dimmed camera feed as a dynamic background for other widgets.
