Countdown Widget

The Countdown Widget tracks the time remaining until a specific date or event.

Whether it’s a holiday, a deadline, or just an oven timer, this widget counts down (or up!) in real-time. It can trigger actions when the timer reaches zero.

  • Flexible Targets:
    • Fixed Date: Set a specific timestamp (e.g., “2024-12-25 00:00:00”).
    • Entity-Based: Use a sensor’s timestamp (e.g., timer.oven_timer, calendar.next_event).
  • Units: Customize which units to show (Years, Months, Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds).
  • Completion Actions:
    • Message: Show custom text like “Time’s up!”.
    • Automation: Call a service (e.g., turn on a light, play a sound) or navigate to another dashboard page.
  • Mode: Countdown (to future) or Countup (time since past event).
  • Source: Static Date or Entity State.
  • Units: Toggle specific time units on/off.
  • Styling: Standard font and color controls.
  • Conditional Styling: Change color when time runs low (e.g., turn Red when < 60 seconds).
  • Kitchen Timer: Sync with an Alexa or Home Assistant timer.
  • Event Tracker: “Days until Vacation”.
  • Uptime Monitor: “System Online for: 12 days, 4 hours”.
