Entity Display Widget
The Entity Display Widget is the standard way to show a sensor’s value.
Description
Section titled “Description”A simple, reliable widget for displaying the state of an entity. It’s the go-to choice for temperature sensors, humidity, power usage, or any other numeric/text state.
Key Features
Section titled “Key Features”- State Display: Shows the main state of the entity (e.g., “21.5” or “On”).
- Units: Automatically appends units (e.g., “°C”, “%”, “W”) if defined in Home Assistant.
- Resilient: Handles missing entities or offline states gracefully with visual error indicators in edit mode.
Configuration
Section titled “Configuration”- Entity: Select the entity to display.
- Attribute: (Optional) improved simplicty over the Advanced version, pick a top-level attribute if needed.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”- Text Style: Adjust font size, weight, and alignment.
- Container: Control background color and border visibility.
Use Cases
Section titled “Use Cases”- Room Temp: “22.5 °C” in the living room.
- Humidity: “45 %” in the bathroom.
- Power: “450 W” current usage.
